Downtown movie in the park victim of rainy weather

ALBANY, Ga. — While the rains that have drenched Southwest Georgia the last few days and are forecast to remain for most of the rest of the week have already impacted the region's Independence Day celebration, Albany Parks and Recreation officials remind area revelers the city's planned all-day celebration at the Exchange Club Fairgrounds today will go on, rain or shine.

But the wet weather has forced the cancellation of one planned fun activity in downtown Albany.

The movie “Happy Feet,” which was scheduled to be shown at Riverfront Park Friday, has been postponed, according to a release from Downtown Manager Aaron Blair's office.

No makeup date for the movie was announced.
