CAMILLA -- Jack R. Griffin, 76, of Warner Robins, Ga. died Friday, July 5, 2013 at Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins, GA.
Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Patmos Freewill Baptist Church, Baker County, GA. with interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Rozier and Rev. Curtis Alligood will officiate.
Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Freeman, Ray Lanier, Lamar Hudgins, David Strickland, Stephen Strickland and Ed Daniels.
Born January 12, 1937 in Baker County, GA., to the late Charlie and Mary Elizabeth Fretwell Griffin, Mr. Griffin was a member of Warner Robins First Freewill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He retired after 35 years from Timberlake Grocery; later worked at Warner Robins Air Force Base and drove the Special Education Bus for Houston Co. Schools. Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by two sisters, Christine G. Lanier and Eloise G.Freemen.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine P. Griffin of Warner Robins, GA.; daughter, Jan Brown (Brad) of Macon, GA.; brother, Charles Griffin (Hortense) of Ft. Gaines, GA.; grandchildren Amelia Brown and Griffin Brown and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1:30-3:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Patmos Freewill Baptist Church.
