CAMILLA -- Samuel Perry Willingham, 91, of Camilla, died Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 10 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery with military honors. Rev.
Wayne McDonald, Rev. James Cain, and Rev. Kenneth Brooks will officiate.
Active pallbearers will be John Gray, Jr., John Kelly, Don Kelly, Martin Mosteller, Kenneth Brooks, Drew Davis, Woody Willingham, and Chip Willingham. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Morrell, Alex Morrell, Freddie Martin, Grady Martin, Jimmy Shiver, Charles Griner, Ivey Griner, Woody Eubanks, Al Collins, Marc Collins, and Wayne Eubanks.
Born December 5, 1921 in Mitchell County, Mr. Willingham was the son of the late Samuel Sheppard and Jessie Bell Shiver Willingham. He was married to the late Dorothy Mary Goode Willingham. Mr. Willingham was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in WWII. He was a retired farmer and member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Doty Strausser, Ruby Gray, and Katie Ward.
Survivors include three sons, Samuel P. "Sammy" Willingham, Jr. and wife, Nancy, of St. Cloud, FL, William W. "Bill" Willingham and wife, Cindy, of Pelham, and David A. Willingham and wife, Angie, of Camilla; one sister, Alice Jean Kelly Roberson of Columbus; nine grandchildren, Samuel "Chip"
Willingham III, Robyn Foster, Sara Berlinsky, Stephanie Davis, Woody Willingham, Drew Davis, Kelly Rebecca Willingham, Jennifer Kaye Willingham, Sara Ann Willingham; fifteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 9 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home in Camilla.
