Woman arrested after argument gets violent

ALBANY, Ga. — A woman has been arrested after an argument with a man turned violent when she grabbed a knife and attempted to stab him, Albany Police say.

The woman, who has yet to be identified by police, was arrested by police and taken to the Law Enforcement Center around 11 p.m. Tuesday, APD Spokesperson Phyllis Banks says.

Initial indications are that she got involved in an argument with the victim, Timothy Jones, when things escalated and she allegedly grabbed a knife and swung at Jones, who received a minor cut to his chest as he was attempting to get out of the way of the blade.

EMS was called, but Jones declined any medical treatment. Charges are pending in the matter.
