Hotel guest robbed at gunpoint

ALBANY, Ga. — A resident of an extended stay hotel on North Slappey Boulevard was robbed at gunpoint early Thursday morning.

The victim, Aaron Brown told police he was in his room at Superior Creek Lodge, 2505 N. Slappey Blvd., shortly after midnight Wednesday, when an “unknown male” knocked on his door and asked to use his phone.

Once allowed inside, the suspect pulled a handgun, Brown said, and demanded money. According to Brown, when told there was no money, the suspect, a male with a white beard and white hat, ran from the room in an undetermined direction. No injuries were reported.

According to Albany Police Department spokeswoman Phyllis Banks, there have been no charges or arrests and the case remains under investigation.
