Award-winning photographer to conduct workshop

ALBANY, Ga. -- Nationally-known photographer John Reed will conduct a workshop in Albany Saturday and July 21 for the Sunbelt Photography Club.

The weekend workshop will begin at 8:30 a.m. both dates in the Chautauqua Room at the Thronateeska Heritage Center and is designed for photographers of all skill levels.

Saturday's session will be an instructional workshop with an emphasis on nature and local wildlife. Sunday's program will be a hands-on outdoors session. The Saturday program will likely end around 5 p.m. Sunday's program is a half-day event.

The fee for the workshop is $35 for members of Sunbelt Photography Club and $45 for non-members.

Reed has had his work published in several national photography magazines. His photographs are on display in several venues in and around Jacksonville, Fla., as well as at the PGA Baltimore, the Corpus Christie, Texas, Naval Air Station and King's Bay Naval Air Station near Brunswick.

He holds several instructional positions including instructor for the University of North Florida Continuing Education Department, instructor and workshop leader for the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge and instructor and workshop leader for the Wild Amelia Nature Festival in Fernandina Beach, Fla.

The Sunbelt Photography Club is dedicated to educating and promoting local photographers. The club meets the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. in the education room at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital's north campus.
