TIFTON, Ga. -- A large number of photographers from throughout South Georgia will exhibit their work at the Tifton Museum of Arts and Heritage Biennial Photography Exhibit, which opens today.
The show will be open from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. Winners of prizes totaling $5,500 will be announced at 2 p.m.
The exhibit will comprise prints from amateur and professional photographers in several categories, including nature, adults, children, animals and architecture.
The winning photos will be chosen by Gary Blackburn, professor of Art, including photography and sculpture, at Mercer University in Macon.
Jeannie Rigdon, who serves as photography exhibit chair, said the number of photographers and the geographic range they represent promise an interesting and high-quality show.
The exhibit will be on display at the museum through Aug. 1. Exhibit hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 1 p.m.-5 p.m., Thursdays 1 p.m.-7 p.m. and Sundays 1 p.m.-3 p.m. Admission is free.
