ALBANY, Ga. — Grant Cannon, 27, has been charged with vehicular homicide in the 2nd degree and failure to yield while turning left following a crash that killed an active duty Marine, officials from the Albany Police Department said Monday.
The charges stem from a motorcycle wreck that occurred near the Pilot service station on Cordele Road on June 30. Sgt. Ronald A. Nabors Jr., 26, struck the 18-wheeler Cannon was driving on the passenger side while riding his motorcycle, reports on the incident say.
Nabors was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
After learning of the charges, Cannon turned himself in immediately to authorities and made bond, said Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman with the APD.
