ALBANY -- Alger A. Witczak, 80, of Creekview Drive, Leesburg, Georgia died Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Willson Hospice House.

His funeral service will be Monday at 11 AM at Kimbrell-Stern. Interment will follow in Andersonville National Cemetery with military honors. Mr. James Fallin and Mr. Ross Powell will be officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 to 6 PM at Kimbrell-Stern, and will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. James Fallin 5294 Florida Short Rt. Dawson, GA 39842.

A native of Grand Rapids, MI, Mr. Witczak has lived in Leesburg since 1986. He was a retired SSgt with 20 years of service from the United States Air Force, serving in the Vietnam War. He also worked at Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. in Albany, Georgia for 14 years. Mr. Witczak was a member of the Air Force Sergeant's Association and the VFW. He had a passion for fishing and loved sports, especially the Detroit Tigers and the Atlanta Braves. Mr. Witczak will always be remembered for the time he spent and the love he gave to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Witczak was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Barfield Witczak, parents, Frank and Helen Frandsin Witczak, a sister, Winifred Esterley and five brothers, Frank, Ray, Donald ("Donnie"), Stanley ("Wally") and Robert ("Bob") Witczak.

Survivors include his daughter, Pamela Marie Fallin and husband James, Sasser, GA; son, Jerry Lee Witczak and wife Karen, Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Jonathan Fallin and wife Marla, Jacob Fallin and wife Lauren, Joshua Fallin, Christopher Witczak and Jennifer Witczak; great grandchildren, Noah Fallin and Lakelyn Fallin, sisters, Eleanor Kelly, Shirley Krajewski, Dorothy Dekracker and Beatrice Schaap all of Grand Rapids, MI.
