MOULTRIE -- Thomas Edwin Ethridge, 75, of Doerun, died Saturday, July 20, 2013 at his home, surrounded by family and friends.
Funeral services will be 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Mr. Don Goodroe and Mr. Larry Carlton officiating. Interment will follow in Doerun Cemetery, with Dr. David Benton officiating.
Casketbearers will be Grady Whiddon, Hunter Whiddon, Eric Foster Whiddon, David Rowland, Elkin Chatman and Ed Barrow.
Honorary casketbearers will be Larry Carlton, Alvin Wheeler, Ricky Gay, Mack Mackey, Mickey Crowell, Steve Walden, Hosea Avelos, Carol Brown, Donald Walker, Ray Saunders and Wayne Gregory.
Born September 15, 1937 in Quitman, he was the son of the late Olin Clayton Ethridge and Ruby Sikes Ethridge. He was the retired manager of Loblolly Building Supply in Moultrie and was a member of First Baptist Church of Doerun. He was a member of Doerun Masonic Lodge and the Hasan Shrine Temple.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Whiddon Ethridge of Doerun; one son, Wade Ethridge of Doerun; one daughter, Melissa Goodroe and husband Craig of Doerun; two grandchildren, Luke Goodroe and Lane Goodroe, both of Doerun; two brothers, Paul Ethridge of Baconton and Gary Ethridge of Doerun; and his caregiver, Joan Ford of Albany.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
