This is the cover for Luke Bryan's fourth album, which debuts Aug. 13. (June 26, 2013)
NASHVILLE — Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan has announced the schedule for his fifth annual Farm Tour, which includes five Georgia venues among the eight dates.
Tickets for the concerts went on sale earlier this week to members of the Nut House, Bryan’s fan club. Tickets will be available to the general public starting at 10 a.m. Friday.
The Leesburg native will open the tour Oct. 2 in Statesboro, followed by shows in Athens on Oct. 3; Columbia, S.C., Oct. 4; Macon, Oct. 5; Villa Rica, Oct. 9; Auburn, Ala., Oct. 10; Tallahassee, Fla., Oct. 11, and Valdosta, Oct. 12.
Presales for two of the shows — Athens and Tallahassee — will be announced at a later time, according to Bryan’s website.
Last year’s Farm Tour attracted 100,000 fans to the outdoor venues, doubling the attendance record for the 2011 concert series. Eight scholarships were given to students from a farming family within the communities the tour played last year, according to the website, and the Luke Bryan Farm Tour Scholarship will continue this year.
Bryan started the outdoor concert series as a way to give back to local farming communities by celebrating and lifting up the American farmer and offering an entertaining musical escape.
Also, the album release show for Bryan’s newest album, “Crash My Party,” has been set for Aug. 15 at Irving Plaza in New York City. The album is scheduled to hit stores on Aug. 13.
Fan Club members were able to start buying up to two general admission tickets on Tuesday. Information on tickets for Bryan shows can be found at www.lukebryan.com.
