Pedestrian robbed at gunpoint

ALBANY, Ga. -- A pedestrian out for a late-night stroll Tuesday found more than he bargained for, police officials say.

Matthew Cooper told Albany Police Department officers he was walking on the 1100 block of West Whitney Avenue at around 11:25 p.m. Tuesday when he was approached by three black males he didn't know. According to Cooper, one of the men showed him a handgun and told him to lie on the ground. When the victim complied with the command, another of the men took an undetermined amount of cash from (Cooper's) pockets.

The suspects were gone when officers arrived at the scene, according to an APD spokesperson. No injuries were reported.
