ALBANY, Ga. -- A two-car accident sent an elderly man to the hospital, police officials say. According to the Albany Police Department, Robert Ellington, 83, was driving his 2011 Kia Soul southeast on Dawson Road just before 3 p.m. on Thursday when he made a left turn onto Third Avenue and was struck broadside by a 2003 Honda Accord traveling northwest on Dawson Road.
The impact from the Accord, driven by Shonnie King, 45, caused the Kia to overturn. Ellington was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment and cited for failure to yield while turning left. King is said to have also complained of injuries but was not taken to the hospital.
