Panthers win 3OT thriller vs. Raiders, lose star WR Savage for season

ALBANY — As the two-time defending league champs, you’d think there wasn’t a single scenario the Albany Panthers haven’t seen.

Think again.

The Panthers survived a fumble on the second play from scrimmage, a pick-six and several blocked and missed field goals to knock off the visiting Raiders, 69-63, late Saturday night at the Albany Civic Center in a triple-overtime thriller. It was the first triple OT game in franchise history — first double, in fact.
