EUGENE, Ore. — Former Westover star and Clemson sophomore Reggie Lewis ran a 10.07 in Wednesday’s 100-meter preliminaries in the NCAA Division I Track & Field National Championship and advanced to Friday’s finals.

He finished third in his heat but had the seventh-fastest time in the 24-sprinter field.

Lewis was also the first leg in Clemson’s 4x100 relay team, but the Tigers failed to make it out of the preliminary round, finishing fifth in their heat and 10th overall with a time of 39.46.

Clemson freshman sensation Mimi Land, who was a 10-time state champ while at Monroe, competed in just the long jump and finished last in her 12-person flight with a top jump of 5.97 meters.
