ALBANY -- Mr. Charles Joseph Ward, 74 of Leesburg died Tuesday June 11, 2013 at Willson Hospice House.
Funeral services will be Friday 11 AM at Kimbrell-Stern. Rev. A.B. Stroud officiating. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
A native of Cedartown, GA Mr. Ward has lived most of his life in Albany, and has lived the past 23 years in Leesburg. Mr. Ward is a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Albany where he received the God and Country Award in Scouting and was retired from Engineering & Equipment Company with 41 years of service. He was a graduate of Albany High School and served in the United States Army. Mr. Ward was the Assistant Scout Master of his sons Troop 111 at Sherwood Baptist Church.
Mr. Ward loved his family and will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Survivors include his sons, Chris Ward and his wife Rena of Albany and Greg Ward and his wife Debbee of Leesburg, grandchildren, Blake, Josh and Sarah, great-grandchild, Braden, sister, Sandie Hester and her husband Darrell of Newnan, GA and a brother, Leonard Ward and his wife Maureen of Coweta Co., GA, numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kimbrell-Stern and will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Ward 2813 Burlington Rd. Albany, GA 31721.
