ALBANY, Ga. — Three arrests were made Wednesday in a home invasion case on East Tift Avenue, according to an Albany Police Department spokeswoman.
According to police reports, the victims, Mireum Merit, 35, Kayla Hester, 21, Edwin Haynes, 29, and a 4-year-old juvenile were asleep at their residence on the 1400 block of East Tift Avenue Tuesday when, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the door to the residence was kicked in by home invaders who forced the victims out of the building by gunpoint. No injuries were reported.
Shawn Frazier, 24, and Shaquille Mathis, 19, were arrested in connection with the case around 7 p.m. Tuesday, interviewed and transported to the Dougherty County Jail, officials say.
On Wednesday, Carlos Mathis was also arrested. According to the APD, all were charged with aggravated assault, burglary and armed robbery. The investigation is ongoing.
