Boy injured by car in Albany dies in Atlanta

ALBANY, Ga. — Javeion McClendon, the 6-year-old boy struck by a car on Sunday has died in Atlanta, officials say.

Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler said the boy was apparently stuck when he ran unexpectedly onto South Harding Street near Cherry Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

McClendon was transported to Scottish Rite Hospital in Atlanta, but died from his injuries around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Fowler said.

Officials say no charges have filed against the driver of the vehicle.
