Program scheduled for parents of autistic children

ALBANY. Ga. — A Judevine Autism Training Program is planned here March 12-14 by Albany Advocacy Resource Center.

Topics will include information on autism, communication problems, behavior development strategies, applied behavior analysis, sensory integration and more.

The three-day workshop is designed to teach parents how to work with their children who have autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, autistic characteristics and Pervasive Developmental Disorders.

Debbie Vansant and Sonia Prescott, Judevine Autism certified master trainers at Albany ARC will provide instruction.

The training will take place from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on March 12 and 14. The training on March 13 will be from 5-8 p.m. The location all three dates is 3005 Old Dawson Road. Childcare will be provided.

Funding is through the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities.
