SYCAMORE (MCT) —A Turner County woman has been arrested and charged with murder in the fatal shooting of her husband Friday night at their home.
Rodney Wall, special agent in charge at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation office in Perry, told the Tifton Gazette that Turner County deputies responded to the couple’s home on Highway 32 East in Sycamore around 7:30 p.m. Friday. Morris Pilkington Jr., 62, was found dead at the scene. His wife, Debra, 60, was taken into custody and was being held in the Turner County Jail, Wall said. Bail has not been set. She has been charged with felony murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Wall said there was a domestic situation involving family members that had been ongoing during the day, which subsequently led to the shooting. Wall wouldn’t comment on where Pilkington was shot. He said Pilkington’s body will be sent to the crime lab in Macon for an autopsy.
The GBI is assisting the Turner County Sheriff’s Office with the case.
