GBI investigating Moultrie murder

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation office in Thomasville are looking into a shooting on Sunday night in Moultrie that authorities say left one person dead and three more injured.

Steve Turner, special agent in charge for the Thomasville GBI office, said the call came in at 9:50 p.m. In all, there were more than 30 shots fired at 224 Second St. NW in Moultrie. Four people were hit, including 50-year-old James Key, who died as a result of his injuries, Turner said.

The remaining three victims were sent to Colquitt Regional Medical Center, one with serious injuries. Turner would not release the names of the other victims.

As of Monday afternoon, there was no solid information regarding a suspect. An argument is believed to be connected to the shooting, but it is not clear yet when it happened, Turner said Monday.
