Westover celebrates third straight Region Literary title

Westover High School celebrated its third straight Region 1-AAAA Literary Championship with a ‘Breakfast of Champions’ Tuesday. The Patriots will now travel to Warner Robins on March 16 with the goal of defending last year’s state championship.

ALBANY, Ga. -- Westover High School celebrated its third consecutive Region Literary team championship with a 'Breakfast of Champions' Tuesday at the school.

Westover won the 2012-2013 Region 1-AAAA Literary Championship this past week at Darton College.

The Patriots will now travel to Veterans High School in Warner Robins on March 16 to the state literary competition where they will have the opportunity to defend last year's Class AAAA Championship.

"I am very, very proud of you all, you've done extremely well," Westover Principal William Chunn told the team. "Winning three straight region championships is no small feat. Now go defend your state championship for the first time."

Team coach Selena Bentley also praised her 15-member team.

"I want to say to each and every one of you that we are so very proud of your efforts in representing your school," Bentley said. "I look for good things to happen to you on March 16."
