ALBANY, Ga. -- The hijacking of a motor vehicle and the recovery of a missing juvenile was the activity accounted for by the Albany Police Department over the weekend.

Reports show that police responded to 400 Clark Ave. on Saturday just before midnight and found a suspected hijacking victim standing in the parking lot of the park wearing no shoes who said he had been hijacked of his blue 2006 Chrysler Sebring.

"He advised an unknown male who he picked up on McKinley Ave. near K&S Foods pulled a black handgun on him and took his money and vehicle," the report's narrative states.

The victim said the suspect was riding a bicycle and asked for a ride to his aunt's house. The suspect put the bicycle in the trunk and got into the vehicle, and when they got to the 400 block of Clark Avenue, pulled out a gun and demanded the victim go to the end of Plumb Street, the report said.

The report went on to say that the suspect demanded the victim's money, cell phone, his socks and took his vehicle before taking the bicycle out of the trunk and leaving it on the street.

Officers tracked the stolen phone to the 100 block of North Cleveland Street, where it was found on the ground. Both the bicycle and phone were recovered for print processing, reports show.

When patrolling the 1300 block of Lee Street around 4 a.m. Sunday, officers found the car parked on the east side of the roadway. The vehicle was towed back to the APD Law Enforcement Center on West Oglethorpe Boulevard, police reports show.

IN OTHER WEEKEND activity, the APD says that a teenager who went missing March 1 returned safely home to her grandmother on Sunday.

Tamika Lewis, 16, was unharmed, Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the APD, said Monday. No further details were immediately given.

The APD issued a lookout for the girl on March 4. She went missing from 2005 Beachview Drive after she left home following a disagreement with her mother three days prior, police officials said.

No foul play was suspected at the time of her disappearance, but she has been diagnosed with a mental disorder and had not been on her medication for a couple of days, police officials said when the lookout was issued.
