Police, Fire and EMS Reports - March 14, 2013

ALBANY, Ga. — Five local residents were surprised but uninjured when a “bullet projectile” of an unknown caliber penetrated their home on Shadowlawn Drive on Tuesday evening.

Officials with the Albany Police Department say that Rotha Claitt, Horace Claitt, Barbara Robinson, Jesse Robinson Jr., and Autumn Rutland were inside their residence at 512 S. Shadowlawn Drive shortly after 11 p.m. when they heard several gunshots. One of the shots apparently passed through the living room of the home and landed on the floor inside a closet, officials said.

According to police, a witness reported seeing a black male in a gray jogging suit running toward the rear of 511 S. Shadowlawn Drive after the shots were fired. The case will be turned over to the Criminal Investigations Bureau, officials said.

ALBANY POLICE: The Albany Police Department responded to at least 12 incidents on Tuesday into the early hours of Wednesday, available reports show. Incidents included:

— Wanted persons on the 200 block of South Jackson Street, the 400 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard and the 400 block of Wadkins Avenue;

— Entering autos on the 1200 block of Westwood Drive, the 3100 block of Graystone Lane, the 3100 block of Crepe Myrtle Court and the 300 block of Carriage Lane;

— Rape on the 400 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard;

— Criminal trespass on the 800 block of West Whitney Avenue, the 2000 block of West Broad Avenue, the 100 block of Penny Lane, the 100 block of Sutton Place, the 3900 block of Rodnor Forest Lane, the 1100 block of Jordan Avenue and the 500 block of Swift Street;

— Family violence (unfounded) on the 600 block of Johnson Road;

— Simple assault on the 500 block of Holloway Avenue;

— Simple battery on the 2000 block of Schley Avenue, the 1400 block of East Tift Avenue and the 2400 block of Cardinal Street;

— Thefts by taking on the 500 block of Louis Avenue, the 400 block of Wadkins Avenue, the 1300 block of Mobile Avenue, the 1000 block of West Gordon Avenue and the 300 block of Pine Avenue;

— Theft by shoplifting on the 2600 block of Dawson Road;

— Aggravated assaults on the 1000 block of Cleveland Street and the 500 block of Shadowlawn Avenue;

— Missing juvenile on the 600 block of South Maple Street;

— Unruly child on the 200 block of Cordele Road;

— Burglary in the first degree on the 1300 block of East Society Avenue;

— Recovered property on the 300 block of Independence Avenue;

— Disorderly conduct on the 1200 block of Schley Avenue;

— Public indecency, saggy pants, on the 1800 block of Pearce Avenue.

DOUGHERTY POLICE: The Dougherty County Police Department responded to at least seven calls on Tuesday, available reports show. Incidents included:

— Traffic arrest on the 2900 block of Sylvester Road;

— Traffic accident, hit and run, on the 1400 block of Moultrie Road.

ALBANY FIRE: The Albany Fire Department responded to at least six calls on Tuesday into the early hours of Wednesday, available records show. Incidents included a house fire, a grass fire, a controlled burn, a cat in a tree and a suspicious odor.

DOUGHERTY EMS: Dougherty Emergency Medical Service responded to 50 calls on Tuesday, available records show. There were 46 medical calls and four trauma calls, which included, but were not limited to, seven respiratory issue calls, three altered mental status calls, three seizure calls, one chest pain call, one faint call, one miscellaneous pain call and 26 various medical calls. Trauma calls included three falls and an auto accident victim.
