BLAKELY -- Mr. Clyde Edward "Ed" Wright, 71, died Wednesday evening, March 13, 2013, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Al. His funeral will be held Friday afternoon, March 15, 2013 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home in Blakely, GA. with Rev. Fred Odom and Rev. Sterling Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the White Plains Cemetery in the Lucille Community. The family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to the funeral. Active pallbearers will be LaDon McDowell, Ed Sullivan, Mark Kelley, Eddie Wilson, Mike McLaney and T. J. Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the VFW Post 5259 out of Blakely.
Mr. Wright was born August 30, 1941 in Greenville, SC to the late Edward Cleo Wright and Mary Jane Phillips Wright. He was retired as a Quality Control Manager for Plant Vogtle in Augusta, GA. He was the Commander of the VFW Post # 5259 in Blakely, former President of the Blakely Lion's Club and he was a U. S. Marine in the Vietnam era.
His survivors include his wife: Glenda Cochran Wright of Blakely, 2 daughters: Mare' W. Harmon of Lexington, SC and Myrtis W. Fowler of Columbia, SC; 2 step-daughters: Tammy Pfalzgraff & Mark and Tiffany Temples and Michael all of Blakely, GA He has 2 sisters: Margaret Williams & David and Joyce Smith, all of Deltona, Fl. There are 2 granddaughter and a great grandchild.
