Phillips’ ‘Home’ hits quadruple platinum
LOS ANGELES — Lee County native and former American Idol winner Phillip Phillips’ debut single “Home” has hit quadruple platinum, eclipsing four million downloads and purchases.
The song is his flagship piece from his first album, “The World from the side of the Moon,” and has been featured in feature films, was used as the theme song for the U.S. women’s Gymnastics team during the 2012 Olympics and has been adopted by HGTV.
This week, American Idol officials announced that his newest single from the album, “Gone, Gone, Gone,” would be used as the “goodbye” song for people voted off Idol this season.
