Phillips' 'Home' hits quadruple platinum

LOS ANGELES — Lee County native and former American Idol winner Phillip Phillips' debut single "Home" has hit quadruple platinum, eclipsing four million downloads and purchases.

The song is his flagship piece from his first album, "The World from the side of the Moon," and has been featured in feature films, was used as the theme song for the U.S. women's Gymnastics team during the 2012 Olympics and has been adopted by HGTV.

This week, American Idol officials announced that his newest single from the album, "Gone, Gone, Gone," would be used as the "goodbye" song for people voted off Idol this season.

Herald moderator........thank you for removing Brother_Love's comment.........whatever it was. And believe me........he's NOT the black Sister_Ruby!! And he should be called Brother_Hate because he is a hate filled racist who hates white people also himself at the same time which is sad. And he probably gets more public assistance than he contributes to his own upkeep which explains why he hates himself as well as those who are paying for him to eat, sleep, and drive a luxury import.
