"I wish police officers in this city would start stopping people who run red lights. I see it daily, including some incidents in which people could be seriously injured. Start arresting some people for it and it might stop before someone is seriously injured or killed."

People run red lights, stop signs, speed and drive like it's their first time. I have been told that APD officers have to attend court on their own time. If that's true, I can understand why more motorists aren't ticketed.

I will agree with the Squawk except the real story needs to be heard. These officer must appear in Municipal Court for these citations where many are dismissed by the Judge because it is their word against the defendant. Yes, some are required to appear after a long shift the night before and the being paid part, questionable. Cameras in each patrol unit would help, but you still have the question before the Judge. A point to be made: remember when the APD Officers were working the school zone on Gillionville and Magnolia, have you seen them recently? The reason: they caught the wrong one and after that complaint, no APD Officers. I could tell of more, but enought is enought.
Any response with additional facts would be appreciated.

It's a joke how cops are treated around here. The problem is a few bad apples hurts alot of outstanding cops. And we all know ticketing the wrong person can get you in trouble. Another big problem is they get very little pay for what they do. The biggest thing APD & all departments could do to get more respect is to set fitness standards. All these oversize cops make the all cops look bad.

It is the old " rules do not apply to me" attitude. A common attitude amongst liars and cheaters and thieves.

I am surprised at how many saints throw their cigarette butts out the window at all of the off ramps. Can we, somehow, rig up a camera at these ramps that would get the license plate number and fine that car owner ? We could rebuild America with the fines.

ANOTHER STUPID IDEA. PUT UP CAMERAS EVERYWHERE AND FINE PEOPLE TO DEATH WHEN THEY DO SOMETHING WRONG. THEN YOU WANT PRISON LABOR TO GO OUT AND CLEAN EVERYTHING UP. WHAT A RACKET!
