ALBANY, Ga. — Lawrence W. Reed, president of the Foundation for Economic Education, will open the Albany State University College of Business’ 2013 Foundation for Economic Education lecture series at 11:15 a.m. Thursday in Peace Hall’s Room 127.
Reed will present a lecture — titled “Seven Principles of Sound Policy” — in which he’ll describe a set of principles designed to aid in the evaluation of public policy.
Reed, an advocate for free market solutions to national and global issues, has authored more than 1,000 newspaper columns, magazine articles and journals. He has a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Grove City College and a master of arts degree in history from Slippery Rock University.
The lecture series is sponsored by the Charles Koch Foundation.
Future speakers include:
- Samuel Yenn-Batah, co-founder of the Urban Society of Economic Freedom, at 11:15 a.m. April 9 in Peace Hall Room 122;
- Dr. Lisa D. Cook, assistant professor of economics at Michigan State University, at 11:15 a.m. April 22 in Peace Hall Room 127.
