Firefighters rally in front of a home on the 900 block of Tift Avenue Tuesday afternoon. Battalion Chief Kelly Harcrow says that the rear of the home caught fire from an unknown cause damaging a good portion of the home and killing puppies who were inside the home. No people were injured.
ALBANY, Ga. — A fire on West Tift Avenue damaged a house and killed a handful of puppies, fire officials say.
Fire units responded to the 900 block of West Tift Avenue just after 12:30 Tuesday afternoon in reference to a house fire.
Battalion Chief Kelly Harcrow says that the fire damaged the rear of the home, causing significant damage. While the human residents of the home weren't injured, puppies in the home did die, he said.
