LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Thirty-five runs in two games?

That’s the kind of production Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez hopes lasts all season.

The Braves (15-11), who were fresh off a 17-10 rout of the Phillies on Monday, put up 18 runs Wednesday during an 18-9 demolition of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Just like against Philly, Atlanta hung big numbers in the first inning, this time going up 5-0 before the first hot dog was ready to be sold in the concession stands. Atlanta then added a six-spot in the fifth inning to seal this one early.

Freddie Freeman (4-for-4) and Andrelton Simmons — fresh off the World Baseball Classic with the Netherlands — each hit two home runs, while Simmons also added a double.

Braves starter Mike Minor allowed 10 hits and five runs in four innings. He walked three and struck out five.
