Police/Fire/EMS - March 21, 2013

ALBANY, Ga. — Dougherty County District Attorney Greg Edwards said Wednesday that one of Albany’s “Most Wanted” fugitives had been captured and is currently in jail in Brunswick awaiting extradition to Albany.

Carrie Lynn Justice had been on the run since October of last year after fleeing the county just before facing a sentencing date before Judge Denise Marshall.

Justice and her sister, Carrie Fuller, were convicted in June of last year of falsely committing their mother to a behavioral health ward despite the fact that she was actually sane.

A Dougherty Superior Court jury convicted the sisters of causing their mother, Jean Sancken, to be falsely and involuntarily committed to a mental health ward at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for three days.

Fuller was sentenced to two years in jail, but Justice fled the county shortly before her sentencing date.

Edwards said additional charges could be filed against Justice after she is returned to the county.

She and her sister falsely committed their mother to a mental institue despite the fact that there was nothing wrong with her. Gosh, they are no better than the West boys.
