SYLVESTER -- Mrs. Helen Louise Hall Carter, 90, of Sylvester died Thursday March 21, 2013 at the Willson Hospice House.
The funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday March 23, 2013 at Byne Memorial Baptist Church in Albany with interment to follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Worth County. Dr. Matthew Nance, Mrs. Jenny Haman and Rev. Grady Morey will officiate.
Mrs. Carter was born on September 22, 1922 to the late James Weaver and Eliza Boykin Hall in Savannah and had lived in Worth and Dougherty Counties since 1936. She was a homemaker and a mother. She enjoyed flowers, birds and ceramics. Mrs. Carter was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church where she taught Sunbeams and was a member of the Ladies Bible Study. She was a former member of Bethel Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 33 years and sang in the choir. Mr. and Mrs. Carter celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary on March 14, 2013.
Survivors include her husband, Phil Carter of Sylvester; daughters, Phyllis Reddick and Kathy C. Young both of Albany; grandchildren, Michael Reddick, Bryan Reddick, April Langley and Rob Carter; great grandchildren, Carter Reddick, Cydnie Reddick and a sister Mary Sheffield of Blakely.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by a son Robert E. "Robbe" Carter on April 29, 1989
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 AM until service hour at Byne Memorial Baptist Church.
