ALBANY, Ga. — Investigations are ongoing into the Albany drive-by shootings from earlier this week, with no charges filed as of Friday afternoon, police officials say.
On Sunday evening, William Lamont Davis Jr., and Desmond Treon Williams were killed while standing near a vehicle outside of 514 Willard Ave. when the occupants of another vehicle drove by and opened fire. At around 4 p.m. on Monday at 1206 Gillespie Ave., a vehicle driving by opened fire toward a house and nearly injured a 12-year-old girl, her mother and her grandfather.
At around 9:30 p.m. on Monday, there was a third drive-by on the 1300 block of Avalon Avenue, resulting in no injuries.
Phyllis Banks, a spokeswoman for the Albany Police Department, said Friday that the robbery/homicide and gang units were continuing to conduct interviews in connection with the investigation and that no charges had been filed.
Albany CrimeStoppers, an anonymous tipline, is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information concerning the double homicide. The line can be reached by calling (229) 436-TIPS (8477).

Well, I guess if there aren't any suspects in hand not filing any charges is proper.

community leaders need to put some money in the pot and get the reward money as high as possible......once that reward money gets high enough, somebody will start talking!

Sweeten the pot to $10000 dollars and they will be arrested before the sun sets.

Gillespie? Avalon? Wow! These neighborhoods were great areas with tax-paying, productive families who envisioned a future for their children, years ago when I was gtrowing up in Albany. How things change and go from good to bad and worse. All it takes is a generation or two of non-parenting and non-leadership to get the societal rot now exhibited by Albany, with no apparent change for the better insight. Very sad to see a segment of society destroying the futures of themselves and so many innocents out of greed. Hell will be a crowded place.
