APD investigates Citi Trends burglary

ALBANY, Ga. — At least one arrest has been made in connection to a burglary in East Albany from early Monday morning.

Before 4 a.m. on Monday, officers with the Albany Police Department responded to the 16oo block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard, the site of Citi Trends, in reference to a burglary. Officers responded to an active alarm and discovered that the business had been entered through the rear door, police officials said.

Clothing was the only item reported taken. Devonte Emanuel Harp, 19, was apprehended at the scene, while a second suspect — described as a black male dressed in all black — fled into the woods upon police arrival, APD officials said.

The charges expected to be filed against Harp were unavailable Monday evening. The stolen clothing was recovered, police said.

What difference does it make what the charges are? The judge will just put him back on the street as if he did nothing wrong.
