Bright Side of the Day - March 30, 2013

"When walking past other people, I look at them, smile, nod my head or say hello. That’s one of my Southern traditions. Even if no one responds, it makes me feel good."

I know how you feel, but so many people would rather turn their head than smile back. When I was growing up, my mother would always tell me that everyone deserves the time of the day, meaning, when you see someone regardless, Southwest Georgia and being Black, one thing I noticed early was that it didn't matter what color a person's skin, they would acknowledge you. I smile even if they don't smile back, makes me feel good inside.
