'MicroPlanet' opening at Flint RiverQuarium Imagination Theater

ALBANY, Ga. -- "MicroPlanet," a new film by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Michael Watchulonis, opens Monday at the Flint RiverQuarium Imagination Theater. A portion of the movie was filmed last summer at the Flint RiverQuarium.

Macro filmmaking takes viewers on a journey from lake bottom battles for territory to lovelorn toads searching for a mate to lizards prowling the forest for a meal. Viewers meet the thieves, assassins, and gentle souls alike that inhabit Georgia's lakes and forests.

"MicroPlanet" joins two other films by Michael Watchulonis currently showing at the Imagination Theater including "Fire Ants: The Invincible Army" and "Alligator Kingdom."

"MicroPlanet" will show in all time slots on Monday, April 1. Thereafter, the schedule will be as follows:

Fridays:

  • 1:15 - Alligator Kingdom
  • 2:30 - MicroPlanet
  • 3:30 - Fire Ants: The Invincible Army

Saturdays:

  • 10:15 - Alligator Kingdom
  • 11:15 - MicroPlanet
  • 1:15 - Alligator Kingdom
  • 2:30 - Fire Ants: The Invincible Army
  • 3:30 - MicroPlanet

Sundays

  • 1:15 - Alligator Kingdom
  • 2:30 - MicroPlanet
  • 3:30 - Fire Ants: The Invincible Army

The Flint RiverQuarium features more than 1,000 animals that call the Flint River watershed home. The Flint RiverQuarium is located at 101 Pine Ave. in downtown Albany. Regular operating hours are Tuesday- Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m.-5 p.m.
