Mae Lucille Ogle Humber

ALBANY -- Mae Lucille Ogle Humber, 92, of Albany, GA born December 18, 1920, died April 28, 2013 at Willson Hospice House.

The memorial service will be Saturday May 4, 2013 11 AM at Kimbrell-Stern. Rev. Carrie Myers will officiate. Her remains will be cremated and scattered with her husbands.

A native of Akron, Ohio her parents were Nora Ann Lee and George Edward Ogle. She was a graduate of Westminster Choir College where she sang lead soprano with the school chorus. She came to Albany in 1943, as the Minister of Music for the First United Methodist Church of Albany and maintains her membership there. Later she went on to be the Minister of Music for St. Paul Episcopal Church, the Choir Director for the First Baptist Church of Camilla, GA and a member of the quartette at the Temple B'Nai Israel, and director of the Albany Chorus for many years. She touched many people's lives through her love for music. She retired from civil service with the closing of Turner Field Naval Air Station. She continued her secretarial skills by working for Daniel Construction Company while they were building Merck.

She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Marcellus Humber, Jr.

Survivors include her sister, Ruth Ogle Carruthers of Beverly Hills, FL, daughter, Gena H. DeBary and her husband Ron of Albany; three grandchildren, Marcel DeBary of Smyrna, GA; Ronald 0. DeBary Jr. and his wife Meredith of Woodstock GA; and (Sgt.) William H. DeBary of Marietta, GA; three great granddaughters, Georgia DeBary of Woodstock GA, Taylor and Samantha Simonette of Smyrna, GA.

She will be much missed by them all!

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Kimbrell-Stern.

The family will be at the residence of Gena and Ron DeBary, 4410 Woodcrest Drive, Albany, GA 31721.
