June Bug claim to fame and platform for election to the DCSS Board was and is totally based on "Fish Fry's". If you look at the DCSS website he does not list much. In fact last time I looked there was no information about his education at all. All other members list their info. I am sure June Bug is a good man but to attempt to run a complicated multi million dollar education system requires more than he can offer. Thank you for your service but it is time to think of the children.

The board inproved with the last election but still needs help. Lets face it last years board would have never let the super do what he is doing to clean things up. Lets see how it works out when he comes out with his list of non contract renewals if any insiders are on it.

The teachers, as a group, are not getting the job done. They are professionals. They are supposed to be professionals. What do they need to bring the student body up to educated standards. If they as individuals haven't a clue how to improve their product then they need to go.

A good point. There are some good teachers so, bubbaneck, don't say it. 90% of them are good people. I do not contest that. But they are poorly trained. There is no support system to provide basics and retreads within the DCSS. There has been too much reliance on Cyber U for salary advancements. Central services was such a hot bed of politics the children and teachers were of little concern. The quality of academics just isn't there. But I believe Mosley is right to establish order in the house before he can establish quality in the teaching.

RedEric. Yes I agree there is room for improvement with some teachers not doubt. But you are shooting from the hip in the pitch dark night! You have not ever walks in the shoes of a teacher and you do not have a clue as to the modern day student and how the parents and uninformed people like you are to deal with. A teacher gets blamed by the parent when Their kids can't even hardly Read basic stuff at 9, 10 even 13 yes old. If they can't read they will struggle in school and life. So Frederic, why is the teacher to blame? The kids do belong to the parents and urs obvious they.have spent little time helping. In some cases parents can't read either!! I understand that but all the teacher can do is work with the hand she is dealt each year.

Bigbob you are right on! Exactly the point I was trying to bring out. The days of being elected with Fish Fry qualifications should be over if the parents and other citizen voters really care about the children of Dougherty County.

James Bush is an intelligent and smart man but I think he got caught up in being steered too much by other groups like the local ministers. Mr Bush has worried too much about the next election than the task at hand. That is until things started to get just too embarrassing and undefendable even for Bush and some of the ministers. Mr Bush all you have to do is always do what is best for the children and your job and popularity will be safe.

Interesting how non tax paying local ministers want their outside control of public educations funds.
