ALBANY -- Mr. J.H. "Henry" Burdeshaw, 91, of Americus died Friday May 3, 2013 at his residence.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday 3:00PM at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dennis Stalvey and Rev. Carrie Myers officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00 to 3:00PM at the Church one hour before service.

A lifelong native of Albany, Mr. Burdeshaw retired from Central of GA Railroad after 42 years of service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, he was the First President of Fellowship Sunday School Class. Mr. Burdeshaw was significantly involved with Camp Kirksey.

Mr. Burdeshaw was a Navy Veteran of WWII, a member of Southwest GA Sportsman Club and a Boy Scout Leader (Order of the Arrow).

He was preceded in death by his wife Augusta Colson Burdeshaw.

He is survived by two sons Joe Burdeshaw and his wife Cathy of Oakdale, CT; Jack Burdeshaw and his wife Gary Ann of Georgetown, GA; Grandchildren Jeff Burdeshaw and his wife Lisa of Westport, CT; Jon Burdeshaw and his wife Amy of Plantsville, CT; Jodi Burdeshaw of Colchester, CT; and six great-grandchildren.
