ALBANY, Ga. — Officers of the Albany Police department responded to a traffic collision Wednesday morning at Oglethorpe Boulevard and Radium Springs Road, police officials say.

According to police spokeswoman Phyllis Banks, Cpl. Marita Williams with the APD received minor injuries when the patrol car she was driving collided with a trailer-truck rig driven by Christopher Brister, 40.

Both the semi and Williams’ patrol car were headed east on Oglethorpe Boulevard when the officer turned in front of the truck, Banks said. The patrol vehicle was struck broadside and pushed a short distance before striking the front of a Nissan Versa driven by Cynthia Harris, 51, traveling north on Radium Springs Road, officials say.

No serious injuries were reported. According to the APD, Williams was transported to the the hospital for further observation. The case has been turned over to the Georgia State Patrol, with charges pending on results of the investigation.

"when the officer turned in front of the truck, Banks said."

So will she sue Ford Motor Company? Makes you wonder if they ever took driving lessons!
