If you think you are intelligent enough to not need an education then you are pretty stupid.
Well you can educate and teach stupid people and increase and improve their knowledge. There are all levels of intelligence.
"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge". GOD SAID IT!!!
Good grief! Who chooses these provocative squawks that are so relevant to the pressing issues of the day?
Here, here Carts! Has the Good Life finally run out of things that provoke and press so that Good Life is now a reality? :)
Where does WISDOM fit?
It's with common sense which is also in very short supply these days.
Wisdom is also addressed in the Bible. It is in short supply in America today. Our wise forefathers would be ashamed of the politics today. Someone said to be president you should have served int he military. Our best presidents did and look at the last three. They have torn down everything that the forefathers worked for. If you think we have it good today guess again. I heard today you raise your children around the dinner table. So true!
Education is a system that promotes what its society considers appropriate; learning is an active verb; knowledge is the ability to put two pieces of information together; intelligence is a measure of how well the pieces of information are put together.
Many go through the system just to go through the system. What many learn is how to use the system for their benefit. This is knowledge: putting information together for individual benefit. Of course, there are many people who have pieces of information but have no ability to put them together to form knowledge.
Intelligence is measured against a standard: it is more intelligent to know the molecular structure of water or that humans cannot breathe it?
learning are a gerund.
Well said, eruidite. Your last line brought a smile to my face and my mind wandered back many years ago in nursing school when we were tested on molecular structure. I was a good student, made excellent grades and graduated first in the class, had the highest score on state boards when the class took them, but yet failed to recognize H20 once on a test. hahaha... for the life of me it did not register that it was water. Duh was me, huh?
