ALBANY, Ga. — Warrants have been issued for Dewayne Hogan in connection with a hit-and-run accident on the 3900 block of Radium Springs Road, police officials say.
Chad Kirkpatrick, a detective with the Dougherty County Police Department, said an adult pedestrian was struck by the 2006 Ford F150 Hogan was driving. According to Kirkpatrick, the victim was walking north on Radium Springs Road when struck by Hogan, who was traveling south.
After receiving an anonymous tip, Hogan was interviewed on Monday by the DCP, Kirkpatrick said, but he was later released. According to officials, additional evidence later came to light and warrants were issued for Hogan's arrest. At press time Hogan was not yet in custody.
The suspect is charged with one count of leaving the scene of an accident and one count of failure to report an accident with injuries, Kirkpatrick said.
Officials say the victim was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where he is expected to survive his injuries.
