Dawson police arrest one on marijuana charge

DAWSON, Ga. — Garland King, Jr., 28, was arrested at his residence on a marijuana charge, Dawson police officials say.

According to Col. Tommy Poupard with the Dawson Police Dept., King was in bed with his 1-year-old daughter when officers executed a search warrant at about 6 a.m. Wednesday. Officials say officers had made several "controlled buys" from King, which were the grounds for the search warrant.

Poupard said a little more than one-half ounce of a substance presumed to be marijuana was found at the residence, along with a scale and packaging material. King was charged with one count of marijuana possession with intent to distribute and transported to the Terrell County Jail. Poupard said King's wife, who was present during the arrest, did not appear to be aware of any drugs and was not charged.

Slow news day. Go to his next door neighbor and you will most likely find some there too. 50% of folks in this area do pot regularly and that means half of your neighbors.

Yes, had she been charged it would have necessitated the City or County taking custody of and providing for the child. Funny how that works out isn't it?

I think ill go buy a case of beer a carton of cigs and a bottle of vodka and get my persciption pain killers refilled. Might even feel a bout of erectile disfunction coming on (read: sex drug marketed by big pharma) I know i can overdose on all of these things and they are addictive and cause serious health problems. But they are 100% legal. Whats wrong with this picture?
