ALBANY, Ga. — A Lee County man has been arrested in connection to a Tuesday-morning shooting in Albany in which two railroad workers say they were randomly targeted.
According to a report filed with the Albany Police Department, Timothy McCoy and Gene Ronner, both of whom work for Georgia/Florida Railway Co., called police after two men with guns were seen walking near 1019 Coastline Ave. McCoy and Ronner say the two men fired several shots at them before running off.
Police responded to the area where Montravious Stephens, 24, of Smithville, was found hiding in nearby woods.
According to the report, Stephens matched the description of one of the men seen by McCoy and Ronner and was arrested at the scene and taken to the Law Enforcement Center for questioning.
Charges are pending.
