Recently, I had the occasion to have a boat ride around Lake Chehaw and I agree, the rivers and lakes are wonderful recreation opportunities.
What choices? The water sprinkler in the back yard? Radium is gone. Pools in crack city or Boys Club. But a good goal for Albany is to teach its children to swim. Especially black children. It is like putting a seat belt on, your babies need to know how to swim. If you choose to have them, then be a good parent and him them learn to swim. Every summer you see a whole family drowning in a pond or river because none can swim and it kills them all. Last summer a baby was involved because Mama did not have the sense to lay the baby down before entering the water trying to save another child.
The 311 Call Center is one of the best things to happen to Albany, GA.
A big THANK YOU to 311 Call Center (Ruby Hayes) - for responding to my call for assistance in an expedient manner. AND the hard-working street maintenance crew who toiled tirelessly on North Washington St. alleyways this past Tuesday.
It's a great day to be an AMERICAN!
I miss going to Lake Blackshear and riding the water slides over there. Too bad Albany doesn't have something like that.
