Lucille Sheffield Craft
COLQUITT - Mrs. Lucille Sheffield Craft, 91, of Leary, Georgia died on October 31, 2013 at the Camilla Retirement Village, Camilla, Ga. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., November 3, 2013 at Patmos Free Will Baptist Church in Baker County with interment in the churches’ cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. through 8:00 p.m. at Colquitt Funeral Home in Colquitt Georgia. Rev. Chuck Auschwitz will officiate.
Mrs. Craft was a life long resident of Baker County and was one of eight children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Craft; her parents. Mr. & Mrs. Celius Sheffield; her sisters, Mittie McDaniel, Marcellia Debarry, Pearcie Wilkerson; brothers Steve Sheffield, Arthur Earnest Sheffield, Celius Sheffield, and Bush Sheffield, she is survived by one daughter, Chloe Cecelia McGee and her husband John F. McGee. Jr. of Newton, Georgia. The joy and lights of her life; one grandson, Shawn Austin McGee, his wife Heather, and two great-grandchildren, Austin and Lauren McGee all of the Patmos community, she is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Austin and Lucille lived in Baker County all of their lives and were married for 63 years. She was a member of Patmos Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Craft taught school in Baker and Miller county. She retired from the Baker county school System with 40 years of service. Lucille had a wonderful life for 91 years and will truly be missed by her family.
The family would like to express appreciation to the staff of the Camilla Retirement Village for their professionalism and compassionate care during the period she resided there; also to her doctors, Dr. Jason Smith, Dr. Amanda May, and the staff and care team of Southern Care Hospice. The family appreciates the visits, prayers, cards and support during the time of Mrs. craft’s illness.
