Russ Brien has been promoted to service center manager for Southeastern Freight Lines in Albany.
Brien previously was assistant service center manager in Suwanee. He began his career with Southeastern in the management trainee program after graduating from Auburn University with a degree in supply chain management.
He also previously served as a front line supervisor and operations manager. Brien and his wife, Lindy, have three children.
Mary Elizabeth Hobby, vice president and director of marketing for HeritageBank of the South, has been named to the 2014 Board of Trustees for Leadership Georgia.
Hobby is a 2012 Leadership Georgia graduate. She also serves on the board of directors for Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful. She previously was onthe board of directors for Leadership Albany and Georgia 4-H counselor Alumni Board. She continues to be an active volunteer with Georgia 4-H assisting with the annual gala and the local 4-H clubs in the area.
Before joining HeritageBank of the South, Hobby was an account executive at Langstaff marketing.
Cathy Shoemaker, a research nurse coordinator at Phoebe Cancer Center, has been awarded one of five scholarships by the Georgia Center for Oncology Research and Education to attend the Third Annual Cancer Genetics Workshop.
Shoemaker and Chirag Jani, M.D., medical director of hematology-oncology at the Phoebe Cancer Center, will be attending the workshop in Atlanta. Keynote speakers are Dr. Steven Narod, an internationally recognized leader in the field of breast and ovarian cancer genetics, and Dr. Tuya Pal, an epidemiology-based cancer genetics researcher.
Clark Stallings of Town & Country Equipment Co. in Albany, recently attended Kubota Tractor Corporation’s 2013 national dealer meeting in Memphis.
Stallings joined more than 1,000 Kubota dealers from across the country for a look at the latest Kubota products.
