Jiles Raymond Lindsey
SYLVESTER - Mr. Jiles Raymond Lindsey, 77, of Sylvester died Saturday November 2, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday November 6, 2013 at the Salem Baptist Church with interment to follow in the Salem Church Cemetery. The Rev. Jackie Cabaniss will officiate.
Mr. Lindsey was born in Crisp County on April 18, 1936 to the late John William and Mattie Frances Harp Lindsey. He had lived in Worth County since 1972 and retired as a supervisor after 18 years with Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. Following his retirement Mr. Lindsey worked for Gravely Tractor Company and was self employed. Mr. Lindsey served in the United States Army and was a member of the Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years Betty Gill Lindsey of Sylvester; sisters, Carolyn Moore (Leon) of Warwick, Glenda Whitfield of Albany; nephew, Dr. G. Kevin Moore (Sharon) of Albany; nieces, Kim Littleton (Chad) of Doerun, Angie Perry (Bert) of Durango, CO; brothers-in-law, Morris Gill and A.W. Gill (Carole) all of Oakfield; sister-in-law Vonnice Gill Brown (Harlan) of Oakfield.
Mr. Lindsey had 2 great nieces, 3 great nephews and one great great niece and together they had a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Mr. Lindsey was preceded in death by 2 sisters-in-law, Blondine Gill Kennedy and Patsy Gill Hall and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Whitfield.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home.
