Darton State College hosting diverse 'Nutcracker'

ALBANY - The Darton State College Dance Program will present World Ballet’s “The Nutcracker: A Diversity Celebration” on Saturday, Nov. 30, at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Darton State College Theater.

“The Nutcracker: A Diversity Celebration,” under the direction of artistic director, Henry Hernandez, is an ethnically inclusive approach to the telling of this holiday classic. This production not only features the Tallahassee-based World Ballet company artists, but also dance youth from the Albany area, students from Darton State College and Albany State University, Darton State College dance faculty, and community members.

Both performances of “The Nutcracker: A Diversity Celebration” will be held at the Darton State College Theater, 2400 Gillionville Road., Building J. Tickets are on sale for $15 on Darton’s campus in the Humanities Division Office, Bldg. F/Room 101, and at Guang Zhou’s Chinese Restaurant located at 1214 N. Westover Blvd. Seating is limited.
